City Farm expands global reach with focus on African markets

Mahmoud Kamal, CEO of City Pharm, said that the company is currently expanding in the field of exporting and supplying food and agricultural products in Cairo, Africa, specifically in the South African and Senegal markets.

To solidify its presence in South Africa, City Farm has established a subsidiary dedicated to import and export activities. This strategic move will enable the company to efficiently supply a diverse range of Egyptian agricultural commodities and frozen products to the South African market.

City Farm has a strong track record of exporting to the United States, with a significant presence in key states like New York, New Jersey, Florida, Chicago, Texas, and Michigan. The company supplies a wide range of products, including mallow, okra, taro, green beans, spinach, falafel, grape leaves, and various packaged juices and legumes.

Recognizing the immense potential of African markets, City Farm is committed to further expansion. The company is actively exploring opportunities in other African countries, conducting thorough feasibility studies to ensure sustainable growth. Beyond Africa, City Farm has its sights set on European and Gulf markets. The company leverages the high quality of Egyptian produce to attract international buyers.

To further diversify its export portfolio, City Farm is open to adding new products to its offerings. This includes items like pickles, dried fruits, snacks, tahini, hummus, spices, and hot beverages.

The company's expansion strategy aligns with Egypt's broader economic development plan, which prioritizes agricultural exports. By increasing exports, Egypt can generate valuable foreign currency and create new job opportunities.

Egypt's agricultural exports have witnessed substantial growth, surpassing 6.4 million tons during the first nine months of the year. Key export commodities include citrus fruits, potatoes, onions, grapes, beans, mango, tomatoes, garlic, strawberries, guava, and pomegranate.
