Hyundai, a global leader in the automotive industry, has launched its new all-electric Kona, a compact SUV.
The South Korean automaker
revealed that the new Kona boasts a length of 4.36 meters and a slightly
increased wheelbase of 6mm, contributing to a larger cargo capacity of 466
liters. The vehicle also offers under-hood storage.
Powering the Kona is an electric
motor available in two outputs: 156 horsepower or 218 horsepower. The electric
SUV comes with two battery options: 48.4 kWh or 64.4 kWh, offering a range of
up to 514 kilometers.
The vehicle supports
vehicle-to-load (V2L) functionality, allowing users to power external devices
like electric scooters using the vehicle's battery.
Design-wise, the new Kona
features a refreshed exterior with an LED light bar spanning the front, new
fender cladding, and integrated front and rear lighting. The side skirts have
been redesigned, and the vehicle rides on attractive 17-inch alloy wheels.
The Kona electric is equipped
with an advanced navigation system featuring electric vehicle-specific
functions, such as locating charging stations and route planning.
Inside, the Kona boasts dual
12.3-inch displays, one for the digital instrument cluster and the other for
the infotainment system. A suite of advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS)
is also included, such as adaptive cruise control, regenerative braking,
traffic sign recognition, and lane-keeping assist.
Additional features of the new Kona include over-the-air updates, dual-zone climate control, full LED headlights, and LED taillights.
