Dr. Sami Shaaban, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Nuclear and Radiological Regulatory Authority, inaugurated Sunday the first conference of the Nuclear and Radiological Regulatory Authority in Luxor Governorate at the headquarters of the Egyptian Public Library in the governorate.
The conference kicked off with an
inspection of workshops conducted for Luxor school students. This was followed
by the inauguration of the art exhibition, "The Nuclear and Radiological
Regulatory Authority in the Eyes of Luxor's Pioneers." Featuring over 40
artworks by young students, the exhibition, a collaborative effort between the
Authority, the Egyptian Public Library, and the Luxor Education Directorate,
showcased the next generation's understanding of the regulatory role of the
Authority.
Following the opening of the art
exhibition, a cooperation protocol was signed between the Nuclear and
Radiological Regulatory Authority, represented by Dr. Sami Shaaban, Chairman of
the Authority, and the Egyptian Public Libraries Fund, represented by
Ambassador Mohamed Reda Al-Taifi, Director of the Fund. The signing was
witnessed by Dr. Hisham Abu Zeid on behalf of the Governor of Luxor.
This protocol aims to replicate
the successful model of the Egyptian Public Library in Luxor Governorate across
the entire country. By establishing public libraries as outreach arms of the
Authority, the goal is to enhance public awareness about nuclear and
radiological issues in various regions and villages.
Dr. Sami Shaaban expressed his gratitude
to the Egyptian Public Library and all its employees for their efforts in
supporting the Authority's awareness-raising role, and the Luxor children who
won prizes in the art exhibition were also honoured.
