The Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources has decided to reinstate the installment plan for the cost of connecting natural gas to homes, to be paid along with the monthly consumption bill over a period of 7 years. This decision comes in response to public requests.
The Ministry stated Thursday that In response to numerous complaints received through various channels, including the unified government complaints portal, parliamentary meetings, and direct citizen feedback, the Ministry has decided to reinstate the installment plan for natural gas home connections.
This decision was made to
alleviate the economic burden on citizens. The reinstated installment plan will
offer no downpayment or interest, with installments collected along with the
monthly consumption bill over 7 years, and funding provided by the Egyptian
Holding Company for Natural Gases.
The Ministry will ensure that
previous contracts signed after the June cancellation are also included in the
installment plan. Implementing companies are required to follow the established
procedures for this process.
The Ministry of Petroleum affirmed its ongoing keenness to meet the needs of citizens and respond to their demands, while following up on the implementation of these measures on a regular basis, to enhance effective communication with parliamentarians, government agencies, and the public.
