President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met on Sunday with Prime Minister Dr. Moustafa Madbouly, Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy, Engineer Mahmoud Essmat, and Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Engineer Karim Badawy,

The official spokesperson for the Presidency stated that the President reviewed the government's work plan to ensure a steady supply of petroleum products to the electricity sector. This is aimed at maintaining a reliable and stable national electricity grid and reducing energy losses.

Additionally, the President discussed the government's efforts to boost domestic petroleum production. These efforts include developing newly discovered wells, intensifying exploration activities both onshore and offshore, and collaborating with international partners to increase production. The government is also working on new strategies to attract investments to the petroleum sector, capitalizing on its promising opportunities.

The President called for increased government efforts to attract investments to the energy sector, ensuring the sector meets its goals and contributes significantly to national development.

The President also directed the government to improve the management and operation of the national gas network. This is to guarantee a stable supply of gas to the national electricity grid, industries, and service sectors. Furthermore, the President emphasized the importance of accelerating renewable energy projects to diversify energy sources, expand the electricity grid's capacity, and modernize the network using the latest technologies to optimize energy transmission and minimize losses.

The spokesperson also noted that the meeting reviewed the progress of several ongoing projects, particularly the Dabaa Nuclear Power Plant. This project is crucial for Egypt's comprehensive development, especially as the country adopts a comprehensive and sustainable energy strategy. This strategy aims to diversify energy sources, including renewable and nuclear energy, to improve the quality of services for citizens.

The meeting also addressed the status of electricity interconnection projects between Egypt and Saudi Arabia. These projects are vital for enhancing the efficiency and stability of both countries' electrical networks, allowing them to benefit from each other's generation capacities during peak demand periods.

The President emphasized the importance of accelerating the implementation of various energy projects as a cornerstone of Egypt's development. He stressed the need to adhere to the timeline for the Dabaa Nuclear Power Plant project, ensuring efficient execution and prioritizing the training and qualification of human resources for operation and maintenance.

The President also instructed close monitoring of the electricity interconnection project with Saudi Arabia. This project serves as a model for regional energy cooperation, particularly between Egypt and Saudi Arabia. It sets a precedent for future electricity interconnection projects.
