Haier, a leading manufacturer of electrical and home appliances, is poised to export in August its inaugural shipment of domestically produced air conditioners to international markets, including Jordan, Algeria, and Libya.
Ahmed El-Gendy, the General
Manager of Haier Egypt, announced that the initial phase of the company's
factory in the 10th of Ramadan City has commenced operations, focusing on the
production of washing machines and televisions. Notably, the company recently
achieved a significant milestone by exporting its first batch of locally
assembled televisions to Kenya.
El-Gendy further disclosed the
company's plans to break ground and inaugurate the second phase of the
industrial complex in September. This expansion will enable the production of
300,000 refrigerators and washing machines, with full-scale operations
anticipated to commence by the end of 2025. Upon completion, the combined
production capacity of both phases is projected to reach a substantial 1
million units annually.
President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi has inaugurated the Haier industrial complex in the 10th of Ramadan City last May, during the Labor Day festivities. The complex, occupying a vast area of 200,000 square meters, represents a substantial investment of 130 million dollars. The facility houses six factories, specializing in various manufacturing processes including metal forming, plastic injection, and painting. Once both phases are fully operational, the complex is expected to generate approximately 3,000 employment opportunities for young people.
