Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, convened a meeting today to assess the performance of internal and external transportation systems in Egypt's new cities.
El-Sherbiny emphasized the
ministry's commitment to providing comprehensive public transportation options
for residents, fostering a positive perception of public transit, and
encouraging its widespread use. The New Urban Communities Authority and the
respective city authorities are working diligently to deliver exceptional
services, enhancing the quality of life in these burgeoning urban centers. By
prioritizing transportation infrastructure, the ministry aims to accelerate
development, attract more residents, and increase occupancy rates in the new
cities.
He underscored the importance of
regular monitoring and maintenance of transportation systems in new cities to
ensure optimal service delivery. He received updates from the Egyptian
Transportation Company regarding current operations, challenges, and potential
improvements.
Attendees included Engineer Amin Ghanem, Deputy Chairman of the New Urban Communities Authority for Urban Development and Development; Accountant Mohamed Ragai, Assistant Deputy Chairman for Financial and Administrative Affairs; Engineer Iman Nabil, Supervisor of the Transportation Regulation Unit; Engineer Sami Abou Zeid, Minister's Advisor for Transport and Roads Affairs; and representatives from the Egyptian Transportation Company.
