Deputy Prime Minister for
Industrial Development and Minister of Industry and Transport, Engineer Kamel
El-Wazir, met with a delegation from the Polish furniture manufacturing
company, Padma.
The meeting focused on the company's plans to establish a large industrial complex in New Alamein City, Egypt. Padma intends to invest 70 million euros in a 400,000 square meter facility for manufacturing furniture destined for export to European and American markets.
The meeting was attended by Ahmed
Magdy, CEO of Padma Egypt, and Doaa Salima, Executive Director of the Industrial
Modernization Center.
El-Wazir assured the company of
the ministry's full support, including expedited issuance of industrial
licenses. He instructed his team to collaborate with the General Authority for
Investment and Free Zones to streamline the company's establishment procedures
within the special free zones system.
The Polish company expressed
gratitude for the exceptional support provided by Minister El-Wazir and the
facilitations received from the General Authority for Industrial Development
regarding industrial land allocation for the project, as well as the support
from the New Urban Communities Authority and the General Authority for
Investment.
The minister highlighted the
importance of the company diversifying its product offerings in the Egyptian
market to include doors, wall coverings, MDF flooring, and decorative items. He
instructed the Industry Modernization Center to conduct a survey of MDF wood
production factories in Egypt to facilitate collaboration with the Polish
company for the supply of wood raw materials and other necessary components for
furniture manufacturing.
He emphasized the substantial
investment incentives available in the Egyptian market, encompassing
facilities, infrastructure, ports, roads, and utilities. He highlighted New
Alamein City as one of the most promising locations for industry and tourism.
The company's presence in this city would benefit from its strategic location
for supplying products to both New Alamein City and nearby tourist
destinations.
Darek Kroba, Chairman of Padma, expressed the company's strong interest in accelerating investments in Egypt, recognizing its potential as a promising market and aligning with the Egyptian government's plans for local industrial development. He stated that the company would leverage its expertise to support and develop Egyptian manufacturers, aiming to achieve global competitiveness and the highest quality standards in the field. Kroba also mentioned that the company planned to reach 200 million euros in annual exports to Europe, America, and Arab countries, especially given its production of products for major global players in the furniture industry.
