Engineer Hassan Al-Khatib, Minister of Investment and International Trade, met Sunday with a delegation from Al Dahra Agricultural Company, one of the largest agricultural production companies operating in Egypt. The meeting focused on Al Dahra's current projects and its expansion plans in Egypt. This aligns with Egypt's efforts to attract investment in the agricultural sector.
Minister Al-Khatib emphasized the
ministry's commitment to supporting investors and creating a favorable
investment climate. He highlighted the agricultural sector's crucial role in
meeting domestic demand and boosting Egyptian exports.
Engineer Raouf Tawfik, the company's
executive director in Egypt, expressed Al Dahra's desire to expand its
agricultural investments and exports in Egypt. He also mentioned the company's
dedication to sustainable agricultural practices. Since 2007, Al Dahra has
invested $250 million in Egypt, focusing on food security and improving
financial returns.
Al Dahra owns three major
agricultural projects totaling 67,000 acres in Toshka, East Owainat, and Al
Salihiya. It's a leading exporter of citrus fruits and the largest domestic
producer of wheat and corn.
It is worth noting that the
company's projects focus on producing and providing strategic food crops such
as wheat, sugar beet, corn, and citrus fruits.
Al Dahra, an Emirati agricultural company, is a global leader in land reclamation. It manages over 280,000 acres of agricultural land across Egypt, Romania, Serbia, and the United States. Founded in 1995, the company produces food and feed, serving more than 45 markets and employing over 5,000 employees.
