Minister of Public Business Sector, Engineer Mohamed Shimi, recently inspected the newly established "Spinning Mill 1" at Misr Spinning Company in Mahalla El-Kobra. This state-of-the-art facility, part of the Holding Company for Cotton, Spinning, Weaving, and Ready-made Clothes, is a key component of the government's initiative to modernize the country's textile industry.
The Minister toured the mill, observing the production process from raw cotton to finished yarn. The 62,000-square-meter facility houses 183,000 spindles and 376 machines, with a daily production capacity of 15 tons of high-quality fine yarn. Additionally, an ancillary production hall equipped with 3,000 spindles is being established to produce 17 tons of thick yarn daily for denim and other fabrics, effectively utilizing waste from the new spinning mills.
During the visit, Shimi reviewed
the progress of several other projects, including the "Preparatory Weaving
Mill 1," a new power station, and expansions to Spinning Mill 6,
Preparatory Weaving Mill 2, weaving, and dyeing facilities. He also emphasized
the importance of maintaining the efficiency of existing mills and investing in
workforce development.
The Minister highlighted the
government's strong commitment to the textile industry, as evidenced by the
significant investment in this national project. The modernization efforts aim
to enhance Egypt's production capabilities, improve product quality, and expand
market reach both domestically and internationally.
By equipping the industry with the latest technology and prioritizing workforce training, Egypt seeks to solidify its position as a leading textile exporter and create new job opportunities.
