Minister of Labor Mohamed Gobran met with a delegation from the Vietnam National Textile and Garment Union at his office in the New Administrative Capital. The delegation was led by Union President Pham Thi Thanh Tam and accompanied by other officials.
Gobran emphasized Egypt's commitment to international labor standards, particularly in the realm of work, as evidenced by its recent joining of the Global Alliance for Social Justice under the auspices of the International Labour Organization.
The Minister also highlighted the
New Republic's significant strides in mega-projects and industrial cities.
These initiatives are creating millions of job opportunities and driving
inclusive development.
For their part, the Vietnamese
delegation praised the industrial renaissance that Egypt is witnessing. The
delegation members commended the development they had witnessed during their
visit to spinning and weaving factories, expressing their amazement at the New
Administrative Capital as a national project built by the Egyptian state in a
short period. They expressed their happiness with cooperation with Egypt and
the exchange of expertise in the fields of vocational training and developing
the spinning and weaving industry, given the countries' experiences in this
field.
The Vietnamese textile industry is a major economic driver, generating over $30 billion in annual exports and employing nearly 3 million workers. This underscores the industry's importance and the advanced expertise within the sector.
